Tips for Cooking in The Zone

Nowadays, everything happens on-line. Zone Diet does offer many web-resources, it is that popular! Usually, they are trustworthy and safe. But still, we strongly advise you to check with a Zone nutritionist (or your physician) before you start this diet. They can tell you more about your specific dietary-needs than a web site. They also have an oath to respect towards you as a patient. This is always reassuring and supporting.

Usually, cook books and Internet resources discriminate upon different Zone profiles. If you already know your daily protein intake, you can plunge directly into searching your Zone diet perfect recipe. Here are some more tips when choosing Zone Diet recipes:

  • look for recipes that suit your dietary profile (e.g. women 5.7" and under);
  • try to calculate the blocks of macro nutrients yourself when using the recipe for the first time, although the publisher already did that;
  • eliminate from the recipe flavors and spices that you can't tolerate;
  • create your Zone diet menu plan using variations of the same recipe (some ingredients can be substituted, e.g. chicken breast and cod fish); this is a time saver if you think you are losing too much time on experiments;
  • use only mono unsaturated fats for frying (omelets, pancakes etc.);
  • get inspired from others, on forums and discution lists;
  • create your own pattern of Zone Diet recipes: “family”, “low budget”, “fast food”, “vegetarian”, “gourmet”;
  • if the subject captivates you, create your own Zone Diet recipes and then ask the opinion of a Zone nutritionist; you can also publish them at several addresses below.
